GMCKS is a Non-Profit Organisation made up of likeminded individuals from diverse industries who have got together with a common goal to assist the less fortunate members of our society. One of GMCKS’ projects is a feeding programme in schools. Many children go without a meal in a day, leading to the “Wimbi” Programme which was initiated in March 2016 at Utange Primary School.

The aim of the project was to provide children with breakfast (Wimbi Porridge), so as to enhance children’s concentration in class. Initially the project provided Wimbi for 850 students & staff during an academic period. The success of the Wimbi Project has been so immense that currently over 12,322 students are being fed Wimbi daily in 8 schools, namely: -

  • Concordia School
  • Kashani School
  • Kikambala School
  • Kongowea School
  • Manjaoni School
  • Shimo La Tewa School
  • Tudor Primary School
  • Utange School

Highly attributed to the programme, the children have generally improved both physically & mentally leading to improved class attendance and academic grades. The number of children enrolling in schools has increased exponentially.

In order to cope with an ever-growing number of children and to provide a conducive learning environment, A.B. Patel & Patel LLP have teamed up with GMCKS Wimbi programme to supply the schools within the programme with classroom desks. A total of 1,500 desks are currently required.

In furtherance of our corporate social responsibility, the desks will be crafted by our artisans in the Jua Kali sector.

We call on you to join us in this journey to transform the academic environment of the children. Contribution towards every desk is important.

If you are interested in joining us on this great journey and be part of the team, kindly contact us
